All the work, even the less sophisticated, is performed by law professionals (we do not work with paralegals) and under Partners’ direct supervision. Our clients may expect the Firm to render tailor-made services. We are able to reconcile this peculiarity of our Firm with market fees.

BSBC’s partners have strong and extensive experience in advising Brazilian and foreign clients in projects involving mineral exploration, with emphasis on aluminium, copper, tin, iron, manganese, niobium, nickel, gold, and platinum, as well as fertilizers and industrial minerals.

Our practice involves advice on the purchase and sale of mineral assets and properties, the performance of related legal due diligence, legal advice regarding the development of mining projects, implementation of logistics associated to the complex mine-railway-port, projects’ expansion, mine closure and rehabilitation of degraded areas.

Our practice also comprises participation in environmental licensing at each stage of a mining project; advice on access to the surface land, including negotiation with landowners and litigation; and discussions with governmental authorities with regard to works lying on protected areas.

BSBC also acts in the incorporation of Brazilian subsidiaries of foreign clients and, in such cases, we provide governance advice and perform typical Company’s Secretary duties.

We represent our clients in structuring joint venture agreements, royalty agreements, and cross-border transactions in general, often working side by side with international law firms from Common Law jurisdictions.
